Thoughts and Stuff...
I know, it's been a while...
Thinking a lot about the hurricane and all that's happened since it hit. What got me was all the people on TV right after the storm passed demanding relief and help within hours of the event. HELLO! ?!? You were told to evacuate, and I certainly realize that some people who stayed had no access to a car or transportation. But what are we told in ALL the disaster preparation announcements and classes? DON'T EXPECT HELP FOR AT LEAST 48-72 HOURS! Store enough supplies to last at least that long until help can be mobilized and to arrive. Looters? I have two thoughts on that. I can see taking food and items necessary for survival. Food spoils, and better to be used than wasted. Diapers, medicines, other staples....yeah. I can see that. It's the same as being lost in the woods and finding a cabin, breaking in and using the stuff there as the only means of surviving. That's allegedly not illegal either. Hell, some stores opened up and told people to take what they need. But the idiot criminals who were leaving with cartsfull of plasma TVs and other ELECTRICAL powered items...uh, hey dumbasses...where are ya gonna plug 'em in? Those people should have been shot on sight. And why shoot at rescue helicopters? Can someone explain that to me?
Anyways, I did my part and made a cash contribution to the Red Cross. Did you?
Until later...
